I’m nonbinary and usually coded as masc in public, and my automatic response to a compliment is definitely “thank you! I got it on sale/from [insert place]!” And sometimes menfolk just, don’t know how to respond? I can see in their face sometimes an “Oh. I didn’t ask where you got it from but thanks? I guess?” And it’s just very interesting seeing the difference that exists culturally between feminine and masculine communication conventions in western society
