not an immigrant kid (but black American) and they threatened to disown my sister so I didn’t do it then went to school for a year and flunked out cause I was depressed and stuck with them at home and now I’m planning on moving in with my friend in nyc cause it turns out I couldn’t stand them either way do what you want anon it’ll be better for you plus more options in the long run <3
yeah bc if they threaten to disown u and actually mean it at that point that’s not a relationship i want to keep anyway and i’m leaving as soon as it’s a safe option. if they rly care about u u can reach out like a month later and work things out and if they don’t then u saved urself a lot of stress
