omg yes kids books are the BEST. if she‘s into horror/scary stuff have her read books by mary downing hahn and r. l. stine. if shes into princesses or fantasy princess academy by shannon hale, princess plot by kristen boie, and books by gail carson levine are rly good. if she wants realistic books definitely go with books by andrew clements. margaret peterson haddix has some good dystopian middle grade books. if you want her to get hooked on a series definitely try mysterious benedict society or the classic babysitters club. if shes the type of kid who has a bit of an ego (not in a bad way in the way all little girls should <3) feed her ego w books that LOOK impressive like the ones cornelia funke writes. if she still resists reading give her alternatives like graphic novels, magazines, audiobooks, short stories, poems, folktales, etc and see what sticks so she can use that momentum to get into other genres
