oooh ok ok, i think i misunderstood a bit, plus i guess my idea of “profound” doesn’t come from from creating the of the world/character as much as the complexity of the emotional impact, you know? i get that tho, they definitely don’t deserve credit beyond the original work regarding the uniqueness of the world they’re writing in
that’s pretty much my definition of profound as well i just think that when fanfic manages to be profound it’s not a credit to the fanfic itself but rather to the source material + fanfic author’s writing skill
